SCFPA announces the grand opening of the new SCFPA office in Patagonia, February 5th 2012

It's not as though the Santa Cruz Foundation for the Performing Arts hasn't been part of this community for several years. Indeed, our calendars have been filled with concert dates in remarkable venues across the county since 2006. And the concerts, many filled to capacity, have left the audiences dazzled and delighted that world class music is ours to enjoy right in our own neighborhood.
SCFPA has already proven itself to be a vital part of this area's cultural and educational climate. And the dream is to build a state-of-the-art recital hall in Kino Springs, where music, theatre, dance and performance arts of all kinds can be presented. Now, however, there will be a "bricks and mortar" face to supplement the website and give the Foundation a place from which it can dispense concert information, display the architects' drawings and models, and continue its fundraising activities. According to Christina Wilhelm, President of SCFPA, the foundation has rented a charming building in Patagonia, whose two front rooms are original adobe structure with antique painted floor tiles, to house the numerous activities that will be required to enter the next phase of the building project. It also presents an opportunity to hold auditions and offer private lessons, rehearsal space, special presentations and an outdoor venue for summer events.
"We've worked very hard to create in this unique setting, a versatile and functional space where we can continue to advance the Foundation's goal to build a permanent and beautiful venue that will attract visitors from all over the western United States and beyond. This will serve as the face of the Foundation, a visible image of the dream, propelling the recital hall into a reality," Wilhelm said recently.
The SCFPA Board of Directors is excited about this project and wishes to invite the community to come have a look and enjoy live music and refreshments at the open house on Sunday, February 5, from 4 to 7 pm.
