Miguel Piva, Chris Dorsey, Daniello Cernotto - Guitar and Bandoneon Trio: Trio Cernotto-Dorsey- Piva perform an eclectic repertoire from the Americas, specializing in the music of the Argentine tango composer Astor Piazzolla. Guitarists Miguel Piva and Chris Dorsey, who have performed together for years with the Santa Fe Guitar Quartet are now joined by bandoneonist Danilo Cernotto from Santa Fe ,Argentina. Their innovate program of duos and trios features a blend of traditional and modern tangos including works by Piazzolla, Fleury, Gardel and Troilo.

Quartet Lyrique: Stella Kim, violin; Laura Cásarez, violin; Tiezheng Shen, viola and Diana Ysupov, cello Based in Tucson, AZ, Quartet Lyrique holds the position of Graduate String Quartet at the University of Arizona. This internationally diverse ensemble consists of Stella Kim and Laura Cásarez on violin, Tiezheng Shen on viola, and Diana Yusupov on cello. All graduate and doctoral students at the university, these students hold principal positions in the university’s Arizona Symphony Orchestra in addition to coaching undergraduate chamber music groups and leading orchestra sectionals. Their individual and group performance histories span multiple countries, which adds a unique level of depth to the group’s experience. Outside of their quartet duties, each member is an active part of the Tucson community, teaching privately as well as working and volunteering at various Tucson schools. In the spring of 2018, the quartet won second place in the MTNA National Chamber Music Competition Finals. Following that success, they went on to spend their summer studying and performing at music festivals in Vancouver, B.C., and Philadelphia, PA on full scholarship. This coming year, Quartet Lyrique looks forward to a full schedule of masterclasses and performances, both on campus at the U of A and abroad. They began their fall schedule with a series of performances in collaboration with Tucson’s Artifact Dance Company, then went on to complete a recital tour in various cities in China.

Riviera Duo: Emil Miland, Cello & Marie Tomizuka, Piano Cellist Emil Miland and pianist Mari Tomizuka, present masterpieces of the cello-piano repertoire. This concert is a unique opportunity to hear the monumental Sonata by Sergei Rachmaninov in an ideal intimate setting performed by two masters of their craft.
